A disc company that never stopped building disc players
Sound Gallery by IMS carries Shanling in Singapore: SACD players, CD transports, network streamers and desktop R2R DACs, brought in through IMS Marketing as the Singapore distributor for this part of the Shanling range, and backed by a one-year local warranty. If you still buy discs, or you want a streamer that sounds like more than a convenience, this is a range worth hearing.
Shanling has been making audio since 1988, and CD players since 1994. The first tube-output CD player, the CD-T100, arrived in 1999. The first SACD player, the SCD-T200, in 2000. Along the way the company licensed the patents that matter for this kind of work (SACD, CD, HDCD, Dolby, DTS) and kept releasing new disc players through two decades in which most of the industry quietly stopped.
That matters now. The people still engineering a genuinely new SACD transport in 2026 are a very short list, and Shanling is on it. The company designs and builds in-house, from its Shenzhen offices and Dongguan factory, which is why the engineering turns up at the prices it does.
Most manufacturers at this level buy a DAC chip off the shelf and design around it. Shanling builds its own R2R ladder DAC module: 212 resistors, each held to 0.01% tolerance, in a 24-bit array with a 19-bit architecture and 4-bit compensating code.
R2R converts differently to a conventional delta-sigma chip, and most listeners describe the result the same way: easier to sit with, less etched, closer to analogue in the way it handles decay and space.
The second-generation module appears in three products here: the SCD3.3 flagship SACD player, the SM1.3R streamer, and the EH90 desktop DAC. Same converter, three different jobs. Pick the one that matches how you actually listen.

Disc players and transports
SCD3.3: flagship SACD/CD player. Top-loading SACD and CD player with the HD850 laser, the second-generation R2R DAC and a pair of 12AT7 valves on the output stage. Reads hybrid discs and switches between CD and SACD layers, decodes MQA-CD in full, and passes native DSD out over I2S with ten selectable pinouts. RCA and XLR out, in line-level or preamp mode. Dual 66W transformers, 10kg aluminium chassis, 5-inch touchscreen. Silver.
CT90: dedicated CD transport. A transport rather than a player, with digital outputs only and no internal DAC, on the principle that the conversion should happen wherever you have chosen to put it. Top-loading with a hinged aluminium lid and magnetic puck, SAA7824 servo and DA11 mechanism running at single speed. Two AES/EBU outputs, coaxial, USB, and FPGA-switched I2S over HDMI. Optional upsampling to PCM or DSD, external master clock input, Bluetooth in. 35W linear supply. Black or silver.
ET3 Evo: compact transport and streamer. The compact end of the range, refreshed in Evo trim with a carbon-texture front panel and red control wheel, plus a reworked power supply and transport circuit. Digital out over USB, I2S, coaxial, optical and AES. Adds Wi-Fi, DLNA, AirPlay and Bluetooth streaming, USB drive playback and full MQA-CD decoding. Around 2.5kg. Black.
Network streamers
SM1.3R: R2R network streamer. The streamer built on the flagship’s converter. Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect and Spotify Connect, with Apple Music and Amazon Music built in. Internal SSD slot, dual 31W toroidal transformers on a split linear supply, 5.8-inch 1080p touchscreen, Eddict Controller app. Black or silver.
SM90: compact streamer and DAC. Dual AKM DAC architecture on an Android platform, in a smaller 280 × 230 × 85mm, 3.3kg body. Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music as native apps. Roon Ready certification in progress. HDMI ARC input, so it connects straight to a television. Black.
Desktop DAC and headphone amplifier
EH90: R2R DAC, headphone amp and preamplifier. The flagship R2R module in a desktop box, with a fully discrete balanced amplifier behind it: up to 5.2W per channel into 32 ohms balanced, 575mW into 300 ohms. Outputs on 3.5mm, 6.35mm, 4.4mm and XLR, plus XLR and RCA preamp out. Inputs across USB, I2S, AES/EBU, coaxial, optical, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC and aptX Lossless. External clock input, 4.8-inch screen. Black or silver.

Sound Gallery carries Accuphase, JBL, ARCAM, Denon and Devialet, and Shanling sits deliberately alongside them rather than underneath.
If you have been circling high-end digital and stalling at the price of entry, this is the shortest honest route in: a valve-output SACD player, a true R2R ladder DAC, a transport built to feed a DAC you already own. The engineering is the kind that usually appears much further up the market. What it costs is a conversation, and a short one.
