The Phantom Ultimate 98 dB Opéra de Paris is the gilded edition of Devialet’s compact connected speaker, delivering 98 dB of sound from a body that weighs 4.3 kg. Its side plates carry Moon Gold leaf, applied by hand at Ateliers Gohard, the Paris gilders who also restore the gold inside the Opéra Garnier.
The white body is painted in a low-sheen finish that keeps attention on the gilding.
One aluminium dome faces forward and covers the full range, two aluminium woofers push from the flanks, and the amplifier combines analogue and digital stages in one design. Music arrives over Wi-Fi from AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify and other services, or over Bluetooth, and two of the same model will play in stereo.
