The JBL L100 Classic 80 is a limited-edition 80th anniversary tribute to one of the most iconic loudspeakers in audio history. Produced in a run of just 800 numbered pairs worldwide, each comes with a commemorative plaque bearing the individual pair number and the signature of principal system engineer Chris Hagen. The complete system includes a matched pair of JS-150 floor stands and ships inside a specially crafted wooden crate.
The enclosure is finished in Natural Oak veneer with JBL's signature brown Quadrex foam grille, accented with a gold and black JBL logo and a black satin wood frame. Anniversary edition badges appear on both the front and rear of each loudspeaker. The aesthetic is a direct callback to the original L100 of the 1970s, the speaker that defined the look and sound of a generation of home listening.
Inside, a 12-inch (300mm) cast-frame Pure Pulp cone woofer operates in a bass-reflex enclosure with a front-firing tuned port, delivering the full-range authority the L100 lineage is known for. A 5.25-inch (130mm) polymer-coated Pure Pulp cone midrange driver handles the midrange, while a 1-inch (25mm) Titanium dome tweeter mated to an acoustic lens waveguide takes the high frequencies. Independent attenuators for both the midrange and high-frequency drivers allow precise tonal adjustment to suit the room and amplification.
